Wall, plaster & gyprock repairs

Door-handle holes, removed-fixture holes, corner damage and hairline cracks are patched, set and sanded ready for paint. We explain honestly when a patch will be invisible and when a whole-wall repaint is the only way to hide it.

What the job usually includes

  • Small to medium hole patching, including plasterboard cut-ins
  • Crack repair and re-setting of joints and cornice gaps
  • External corner bead repair
  • Repairing holes left by removed shelves, TV brackets and fittings
  • Sanding and preparing the patch for paint

Not included

  • • The cause of ongoing water ingress, movement or structural cracking
  • • Full-room replastering or ceiling replacement unless quoted
  • • Asbestos-containing material of any kind
  • • Guaranteed invisible colour match on aged or faded paint

What affects the price

  • Number, size and depth of the repairs
  • Whether the surface is a flat wall, corner, cornice or ceiling
  • Drying and setting coats required before paint
  • Whether painting and colour matching are included

When more information is needed. Patching is usually quotable from photos. We suggest an assessment when cracking is repeating, appears structural, or the wall is damp, because the cause needs to be understood before repair.

Questions about this job

Will the repair be invisible?

A well-set patch is normally flat and invisible in texture. Paint is the harder part: aged paint fades, so a patch that is spot-painted can still be visible in some light. We will tell you honestly before we start.

Do you paint after patching?

Yes, painting and touch-ups can be included. Colour matching is charged separately when the existing colour is unknown.
