Handrails & grab rails

Common situations we help with

General examples, not specific past jobs.

  • Provider repair list

A provider has several agreed items. We work through them in one visit, with before and after photos on request.

  • Grab rail in an agreed location

The location and fixing are confirmed first, including any provider or professional requirements.

  • Doors and handles that are hard to use

Sticking doors and stiff handles adjusted or repaired so they open and close easily.

  • Mixed list from the family

Normal handyman items done; anything needing a licensed or specialist trade is set aside clearly.

Funding and approval

Some funded home modifications may need prior approval, an assessment or an appropriately qualified professional. We confirm the scope before work begins. Please check funding with your provider.

Common questions

Do you work with Support at Home providers?
Yes. We work with providers and families on agreed repair and maintenance items. Support at Home replaced the former Home Care Packages program.
Can you install grab rails?
Yes, where the provider, occupational therapist or family has approved the item and location. We confirm the wall and fixing before installing.
Is the work funded?
That depends on the person's plan and provider. Some funded home modifications need prior approval, an assessment or an appropriately qualified professional. We confirm the scope before work begins.
Can several small jobs be done in one visit?
Yes. Send the list and we'll tell you what can sensibly be done together.
Do you do plumbing or electrical work?
No. Licensed plumbing, electrical and gas work is not included. We'll tell you if an item needs another licensed trade.
